Springtime makes for fantastic golfing in Central Oregon. Fewer players on the course, pleasant Spring weather, longer days and frequent visits from the sun all make for great reasons to start the season off early and get in the practice you need.

Central Oregon is home to some of the most spectacular golf courses in the US. Stunning panoramic views, a relaxing atmosphere, plenty of sunshine and a wide variety of courses make it a destination for any golfer.

Central Oregon has options for all players, whether you’re newer to the sport or have traveled and played some of the greatest courses in the world. You’ll find a variety of tees and obstacles to keep both experienced and new players challenged and having fun. 

There are over 30 golf courses to choose from in Central Oregon and all of them have great personality and atmosphere. But, for this article I’m going to focus on six courses that are fantastic for Spring golfing because of their accessibility during Spring conditions and weather and their natural beauty.

Eagle Crest Resort located near Redmond Oregon is home to three 18-hole public courses and is an easy 30 minute drive from Bend Oregon. All three courses giveaway to stunning panoramic views of the Cascade Mountains and the surrounding high desert.

Ridge Golf Course is surrounded by ancient juniper trees and spectacular views of Smith Rock State Park. This par 72 18-hole course allows players to hit the long ball, so break out your driver because this course is a driver’s dream. 

Resort Golf Course has wide fairways and longer holes on the front nine, perfect for your driver. The back nine will test your accuracy and course management as fairways get tighter. This par 72 18-hole course put you to the test no matter your ability.

Challenge Golf Course is perfect for players wanting a shorter and more carefree game. But, this par 63 course will challenge your short game, ability to control your distance and course management.

Pronghorn Resort not only offers world class and nationally acclaimed courses, but also comes with jaw dropping views and an award-winning course design. Located 30 minutes Northeast of Bend, you’ll find three courses here, but I’m going to focus on its splendid public course.

The Jack Nicklaus Signature Course is designed by the master golfer himself, Jack Nicklaus, and is a course for all skill levels. This par 72 18-hole course provides a true golf experience with a focus on combining strategy and playability. Exquisite natural landscapes and views of the Cascades make this a stunning and enjoyable course to play.

River’s Edge Golf Course is located in Bend Oregon and as you might have guessed, offers spectacular views of the beautiful Deschutes River and of Mt. Jefferson, Mt. Hood and Smith Rock State Park. This par 72, 18-hole course is perfect for golfers of all skill levels who want breathtaking scenery and a close by course for those staying in Bend.

Brasada Ranch is located East of Bend in Oregon’s high desert country is home to an exclusive resort that offers luxury, solitude, and stellar golfing. Whether you’re staying for a weekend with your spouse or for a week with the family, be sure to play a round at Brasada Canyons Golf Course.

Brasada Canyons is home to stunning views and high desert golfing at its best. With panoramic mountain views and an open and secluded landscape, you’ll have a relaxed game with an awesome atmosphere. This par 72 18-hole course is open to guests and members only and is one of the longest courses in Central Oregon. So, you might want to grab a cart for this one. You’ll find beautiful fairways and fast greens that all skill levels can enjoy and conquer.
